Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)
Comprehensive Women’s Health and Functional Medicine
Portland, Oregon | Part-Time, with Opportunity to Grow
Synergy Women’s Health Care is seeking a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our collaborative, physician-owned practice in Portland, Oregon.
At Synergy, we believe women’s healthcare is most effective when it is personal, comprehensive, and focused on the individual, not simply a diagnosis or a checklist of symptoms. Our small, experienced team provides thoughtful, relationship-based care in an environment where providers have the time and autonomy to truly get to know their patients.
This is a unique opportunity for a nurse practitioner who is passionate about women’s health and interested in expanding their knowledge of Functional Medicine and integrative approaches to care. You can read more about the practice on our careers page.
The Role
This position will provide comprehensive gynecologic care to women across our established patient population, including preventive and routine women’s health care, problem-focused visits, and appropriate office-based procedures.
An important component of the role will be supporting Dr. Michelle Sang with follow-up care for patients in her growing Functional Medicine practice. This provides an opportunity to learn directly from an experienced physician while developing practical knowledge of Functional Medicine approaches, testing, and individualized care.
The position is expected to begin at approximately two days per week, with the opportunity to increase hours and develop a larger patient panel as the practice grows.
A Focused Outpatient Practice
This is a strictly outpatient position designed for a provider who enjoys building relationships with patients in a clinic setting.
There are no obstetric responsibilities, hospital rounding, hospital call, or delivery coverage associated with this position.
Responsibilities
Depending on experience and interests, responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive women's health and gynecologic care
- Performing well-woman examinations and preventive care
- Evaluating and managing common gynecologic concerns and problem visits
- Providing follow-up care for Functional Medicine patients
- Collaborating with Dr. Sang and other members of the clinical team on patient care
- Developing familiarity with Functional Medicine testing and individualized treatment approaches
- Performing appropriate office-based procedures
- Establishing and building a personal patient panel
- Providing education and counseling to help patients participate actively in their health
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participating in the ongoing development of Synergy's comprehensive and integrative approach to women's healthcare
About the Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a provider who combines strong clinical skills with curiosity, compassion, and a genuine interest in getting to know patients as individuals. The ideal candidate will:
- Hold current board certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
- Hold or be eligible for an Oregon NP license
- Have experience in women's health or a strong interest in developing expertise in gynecology
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be comfortable working collaboratively while practicing with appropriate clinical autonomy
- Be committed to evidence-informed, individualized patient care
- Have an interest in Functional Medicine, integrative healthcare, or whole-person approaches to health
- Be dependable, adaptable, and committed to continued professional growth
- Enjoy working in a small, close-knit practice where teamwork and communication are important
Functional Medicine experience is welcome but not required. We are interested in providers who are motivated to learn and who appreciate the opportunity to develop this area of practice alongside an experienced physician.
Experienced providers are encouraged to apply. Exceptional new graduates with strong women’s health preparation and a demonstrated interest in Functional Medicine may also be considered.
