Founded in 2011 by Dr. Laura Korman, Synergy Women’s Health Care is a trusted clinic in NW Portland dedicated to personalized, evidence-based gynecologic care. Today, our physicians, Dr. Michelle Sang and Dr. Karen Ogryzlo, provide thoughtful, individualized treatment, supported by our Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners who work closely with them to ensure every patient receives comprehensive, coordinated care.

In addition to gynecology, Dr. Sang offers integrative and functional medicine, combining advanced testing with lifestyle, nutrition, and evidence-based therapies to help uncover root causes and support whole-person health.

Michelle Sang, MD, FAARM, FACOG

Functional & Integrative Medicine, Board-Certified OB/GYN

Dr. Sang integrates traditional OB/GYN practice with functional medicine and regenerative therapies. Her care philosophy blends root-cause diagnostics with cutting-edge tools to help patients achieve long-term hormonal, metabolic, and immune balance. She is passionate about optimizing longevity and vitality at every age

Karen Ogryzlo, MD

Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Karen Ogrzylo has called the Pacific Northwest home for more than 25 years, and Portland for over 20. Her journey into medicine was driven by a passion not only to support patients in their health but also to empower them to take an active role in their own care. This approach often leads to deeper, more lasting outcomes.

Dr. Ogrzylo provides comprehensive gynecologic care through every stage of life from adolescence and reproductive years to menopause and beyond. One of the most meaningful aspects of her practice is building long-term relationships with patients, caring for them through multiple life transitions.

She values collaboration with patients, colleagues, and her dedicated support team to create a welcoming environment focused on informed decision-making, patient advocacy, and personalized care.

Outside of work, Dr. Ogrzylo enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.

Sangita Ghimire, WHNP

Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner

Sangita Ghimire brings over seven years of experience in women’s health and primary gynecologic care. She is known for her thoughtful, thorough approach and her ability to help patients feel heard, informed, and confident in their care decisions.

Sangita has a special clinical interest in menstrual disorders, contraception counseling, fertility awareness, and hormone health. She provides comprehensive evaluations and personalized treatment plans, including management of complex menstrual concerns and ongoing hormone therapy support. She works closely with Dr. Michelle Sang to ensure continuity and high-quality care for patients navigating perimenopause, menopause, and other hormonal transitions.

Fluent in English, Nepali, and Hindi, Sangita is passionate about increasing access to culturally sensitive care and supporting women from diverse backgrounds.

Patients often appreciate her detailed explanations and collaborative style, which allows them to feel empowered and fully involved in their health decisions.

Joy Rothschild, WHNP

Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner

Joy brings warmth and clinical knowledge to her role in preventive gynecologic care. She works closely with each patient to provide accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment plans with a special emphasis on education and long-term wellness.

Dr. Laura Korman, Founder

Retired Dec 31, 2025

Now retired from clinical practice, Dr. Korman remains an important part of Synergy’s foundation and legacy. She is pleased to have entrusted the continued care of her patients to Dr. Karen Ogryzlo, whose values and approach reflect the principles on which the practice was built.
