Janene Mitchell, LAc, FABORM is an independent contractor, not an employee of Synergy Women’s Health Care.
My early interest in women’s health grew in my first years of practice as I saw more and more women struggling to have a child. This inspired me to pursue specialty training in fertility. I’ve found helping men and women struggling to conceive to be deeply rewarding. I love working closely with reproductive specialists in their clinics to support IVF procedures. As more patients became pregnant I needed to learn how to care for them during this special time of their lives, so that became another focus of my practice. Another passion is working with women who are navigating the sometimes challenging transition into menopause.
With over 18 years of clinical experience I’m licensed to practice in both Oregon and California, where I completed my education in Los Angeles and became Board Certified in Oriental Reproductive Medicine in 2009. As an active member of ABORM (American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine) and ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine) I am able to connect with other experts to stay up-to-date on the newest developments in reproductive care. I also participate in a West Coast Chinese Medicine women’s obstetrics group where we can discuss difficult cases, exchange ideas and recommend treatment approaches, drawing on many years of combined practice in acupuncture and midwifery.
Essential oils have been a part of my healing toolbox for over a decade, I love combining them with acupuncture for a deeply relaxing and rejuvenating experience. With a background in energetic bodywork, I work from a sensitive, intuitive approach, helping each patient uncover the steps to take that will bring their body back into balance by addressing diet, sleep, exercise and other lifestyle choices.
When at play I can be found singing, dancing, drumming and cooking up new recipes from my garden. I live in NE Portland with my husband of too many years to count.
